In China, the
spring festival is like their Christmas celebration. It is the memorable time when everyone in the family, even the children who are away from school or work, go home and spend time with each other. As such, this event is really important in the Chinese calendar.
Because of its importance, the Spring festival is celebrated in the first days of their 12th month of lunar. It ends in their lunar month's middle of the first month. In this celebration, the important day is the spring eve and even the three days that follow it.
Within this long celebration,
real Chinese families cook the laba porridge made from millet, rice, jujube berries, beans, longan, ginkgo, lotus seeds, and seeds from Job's teardrops.
Around this time, they also offer something to their
Kitchen god. When the event referred to as preliminary eve ends, families get ready for the start of another year.
